Why filter your bath water?

Tap water is treated to be safe to drink, not gentle on skin.

City water is disinfected with chlorine or chloramine to keep germs out of the pipes. That's a good thing for drinking water. But when you soak your whole body in a warm tub of it, your skin and hair take the brunt.

4 mg/LThe EPA allows chlorine or chloramine up to 4.0 mg/L in tap water. That same water fills your tub.
1 in 5Americans get tap water treated with chloramine, a longer-lasting disinfectant than chlorine.
10 minIn one study, a 10-minute bath raised blood levels of chlorine by-products more than drinking a liter of the same water.

Strips natural oils

Chlorine is designed to break things down. In a long, warm soak it can pull the natural oils from your skin, leaving it tight, dry and flaky.

Aggravates sensitive skin

If you or your child already deal with dryness, redness or itch, harsh water can make bath time something to dread.

Dulls and dries hair

Chlorinated water can leave hair frizzy, brittle and harder to manage, and it can fade color-treated hair.

Warm water, more exposure

A bath means 10 to 30 minutes of full-body contact with warm water. Your skin is your largest organ, and research shows bathing is a real exposure route for chlorine by-products.

Filtering is the simple fix

The Age-Less Bath Spa filters water as it fills the tub, so you get the benefits of treated city water without soaking in the chlorine.

Plus a hydrogen boost

Filtered water then picks up hydrogen on the way into the tub, for a soak that feels silky and spa-like.

Happy baby floating in a bath

Great for babies with skin issues

Your baby's skin is thinner and thirstier than yours.

Baby skin is still developing for the first couple of years. It holds water less well and reacts more easily to irritants. That's why so many parents of babies with eczema, dry patches or rashes start by looking at the water in the tub.

  • 30% thinner: a baby's outer skin layer is about 30% thinner than an adult's, and the epidermis about 20% thinner.
  • 2.3× the skin per pound: newborns have about 2.3 times more skin surface for their body weight than adults, so a bath touches a lot more of them.
  • Loses moisture faster: infant skin loses water more quickly, which is why it dries out and gets irritated so easily.
~2 yearsHow long it takes a baby's skin barrier to work like an adult's. Until then, it needs extra care.

5–10 minThe short, lukewarm bath pediatricians recommend for children with eczema, followed by moisturizer.

Researchers are still working out exactly how tap water affects baby skin, and the role of chlorine on its own is still uncertain. But taking chlorine out of your baby's bath is one easy, gentle step you control, and it fits right into the routine pediatricians already recommend.

A gentler bath routine for sensitive skin

Filter the water

Fill the tub (or your baby tub) through the Age-Less Bath Spa so chlorine is reduced before your baby gets in.

Keep it short and lukewarm

Aim for a 5 to 10 minute bath in lukewarm, not hot, water. Test it with your wrist or elbow first.

Skip the bubbles

Use a gentle, fragrance-free cleanser only where needed. Bubble bath and scented soaps can irritate.

Pat dry and moisturize

Gently pat skin dry, then apply a thick, fragrance-free moisturizer right away to lock in moisture.

Bath safety first: fill the tub before your baby goes in, never bathe a baby under running water, and never leave a baby alone in the bath, even for a moment. If your baby has eczema or a rash, keep following your pediatrician's care plan. The Bath Spa is a water filter, not a medical treatment.

The Age-Less difference

Filtered, hydrogen-rich water. A spa bath at home.

  • Deep moisturization: hydrogen-infused water helps skin and hair feel hydrated, with less dryness and flaking.
  • Skin that looks younger: without chlorine pulling moisture out, skin looks smoother, softer and more supple.
  • Enhanced hair health: hair comes out shinier and more manageable, with less frizz.
  • Fewer harsh chemicals: the filter reduces chlorine and chloramines from your bath water, so it's gentler on your whole family.

How it works

Set up in minutes. No tools, no plumber.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Is it safe to use for my baby's bath?

Yes. The Bath Spa simply filters the water going into your tub. Fill the tub first, check that the water is lukewarm, then place your baby in. Never bathe a baby under running water or leave them alone in the bath.

Will it help my baby's eczema?

The Bath Spa isn't a medical treatment, and we can't promise it will clear eczema. Many parents use it to reduce chlorine in bath water as part of the gentle bath routine pediatricians recommend: short lukewarm baths, fragrance-free cleanser and moisturizer right after. Keep following your pediatrician's care plan.

Can I fill a baby tub with it?

Yes. Fill your baby tub from the filtered tub faucet, then move it to your usual bathing spot, or set the baby tub inside the big tub.

How long does the filter last?

Up to 6 months, depending on how often you bathe and your water quality.

Is the filter easy to replace?

Yes. Replacing the filter is simple and takes just a few minutes.

Will it fit my bathtub?

It's compatible with most standard bathtubs. If you're unsure about yours, call us and we'll help.

Do I need a plumber?

No. Just attach it to your existing bath faucet. There's nothing to drill or wire.

Can I talk to someone before I buy?

Of course. Call Healthy Hydration at 509-439-2083, Monday to Friday, 12 to 5 PM Pacific, or email support@healthyhydration.com.
